Long House & Ombau Asa
Duration 6 days & 5 Nights
Day 01
BALIKPAPAN, SAMARINDA, MAHAKAM (LD)
Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport, meeting service and
directly transfer by bus/minibus to Loa Janan, then
boarding houseboat for exciting adventure on Mahakam
river. On the way, you are going to see beautiful scenery
on the left & right side Mahakam river, Meals
provided and overnight on houseboat.
Day 02
MUARA MUNTAI, TANJUNG ISUY (BLD)
Morning arrival in Muara Muntai, sightseeing in villages
where you will see and pass the hard woodeen road. Then
crossing the river to Jempang lake to reach Tanjung Isuy.
A welcome ceremony and dance will be presented. Meals and
overnight at Long House.
Day 03
TANJUNG ISUY, MANCONG, MELAK (BLD)
After breakfast you will take half day excursion by
motorized pass Ohong river to visit another dayak village
and their Long House namely Mancong. On the way cruise if
you lucky you have chance to see Bekantan, one of monkey
species with its long nose or other local animal in both
sides of the river. Return to Muara Muntai and cruise up
Mahakam river by houseboat to Melak. Overnight on the
boat with meals provided.
Day 04
MELAK, EHENG, OMBAU ASA (BLD)
Arrive in Melak then proceed drive to Eheng by
Jeep/Minibus and pass beautiful highland to reach the old
longhouse of Dayak Tunjung. Visit Kersik Luway and
observe the nature forest, if lucky famous black orchid
can be seen. Afterwards visit to Ombau Asa waterfall,
where an exciting place to swim. Return to Melak then
board to the houseboat and downstreams to Tenggarong.
Day 05
TENGGARONG, SAMARINDA (BLD)
Arrive at Tenggarong, visiting the former palace of
Sultan Kutai Kertanegara. Where you will see the Sultan's
impressive collection of heirlooms, china ceramics,
dayak's art and culture items, etc in that Museum.
Afterwards return to houseboat and downstreams to
Samarinda, check in at Mesra International Hotel.
Day 06
SAMARINDA, BALIKPAPAN (B)
Breakfast, free at leasure, enjoy the hotel atmospher,
soaking up the pool until departure transfer to
Balikpapan airport for your next destination.
